Saxon-Uriha Heep rock the Tobin Center 5-30

Classic rock legends Saxon and Uriah Heep brought a great night of heavy metal and classic rock to the ordinarily docile Tobin Center for Performing Arts in San Antonio TX. Both bands would be supporting new releases "Hell, Fire And Damnation" Saxon and 2023s Uriah Heep release‘ Chaos & Colour’. The set lists for both bands would feature a helping of new material.

Guitarist Mick Box led Uriah Heep into a rocking set of classic soulful organ-fueled pure classic good stuff as well as a few relatively new numbers. Uriah  Heep is a great live band with years of experience clearly showing. I'm not sure what they are putting in Bernie's water but, he sounded amazing.   Bernie's voice was spot on pulling stuff off that singers half his age would be hard-pressed to hit. Classic rock never sounded so good.

Biff” Byford and Saxon ( Brian Tatler (ex Diamond Head) and Doug Scarratt (guitars), Nibbs Carter (bass) & Nigel Glockler (drums)) came out swinging for the fences with their new release and title cut "Hell, Fire and Damnation" bringing the ordinarily docile Tobin center crowd to their feet. This song is very unmistakenly Saxon.  Saxon is here to promote their new release ‘Hell, Fire, and Damnation’ however 80% of the songs tonight are Saxon's greatest hits.  The band sounded on point and polished. and the San Antonio crowd ate it up. San Antonio has always been a Saxon town hence the nearly sell-out crowd ...on a weekday nonetheless. " Denim and Leather", "Princess of the Night", and "Dallas 1 Pm" yep they played them all. This show was one of the best classic hard rock shows that have come through in a while, by 2 very good live bands.
