The night was electric as two of rock's most iconic figures, Judas Priest and Alice Cooper, shared the stage for a concert that promised to be an unforgettable experience. As a bonus veteran metal band, Corrosion of Conformity would be opening the show.. Fans from all walks of life packed the venue, buzzing with excitement to witness a legendary collaboration that seamlessly blended heavy metal with theatrical rock.


Corrosion of Conformity would kick things off with a short set, giving fans a taste of the evolution of the band over the last six albums. The groove metal sound went over well with the Austin crowd.

From the moment the lights dimmed, anticipation filled the air. As the crowd erupted in cheers, it was clear they were ready for a musical journey through decades of iconic tracks.


Judas Priest took the stage, and the energy surged into overdrive. The band, celebrated for their powerful sound and intricate guitar work, delivered a set that highlighted their greatest hits. The opening notes of "All Guns Blazing" sent the crowd into a frenzy, reminding everyone why they are considered heavy metal legends.


The dual guitar harmonies of Andy Sneap and Richie Faulkner were standout moments of the night. Their chemistry was palpable, and the intricate solos had the audience in awe. The crowd thrummed with energy as they belted out hits such as "You've Got Another Thing Comin'" and "Freewheel Burning" Rob Halford sang with ease and power, delivering. the goods on all the classic Priest hits.


Judas Priest's performance was a masterclass in heavy metal. Their ability to blend melody with aggression sets them apart from other genres. The lighting and pyrotechnics created a visual feast that added depth to the powerful sound, making it a fully immersive experience. As a Priest show goes, the encore was the classic "Hell Bent For Leather" with Harley-Davidson of course, and "Living After Midnight. "It never gets old.

Alice Cooper, the master of shock rock, kicked off his set with his unique style. Known for his elaborate stage shows, Cooper dominated the atmosphere from the moment he stepped onto the stage. Dressed in his signature black attire, complete with a top hat and heavy makeup, he instantly commanded the audience's attention.


His setlist was a nostalgic trip down memory lane, featuring classics like "No More Mr Nice Guy" and "Poison." all delivered by his stellar band, which includes guitarist Tommy Henriksen, bassist Chuck Garric, guitarists Ryan Roxie and Nita Strauss , and drummer Glen Sobel. Each song was enhanced by dramatic visuals and props, including a giant guillotine—an unforgettable centerpiece that emphasized the theatricality of his performance.


Cooper's unmatched stage presence and ability to engage with fans are a testament to his decades of experience. The set was a greatest hits offering, including all of the shock rockers' most memorable works. "18", "Hey Stupid", and "Feed My Frankenstein" just to name a few. The night was a clinic in shock rock theater, all pulled off masterfully. As the evening grew later and wetter, it was nearly time for the much-anticipated show closer. I'm talking about "Schools Out," which was a song that my generation lived by once a year. What a fun night with two legendary, iconic rock bands. Shows like this don't happen every day, so when you see a bill you like... Go support it before it's gone.
