As summer arrives, metal enthusiasts nationwide are preparing for one of the season's most anticipated events. Pantera, the legendary heavy metal band, is set to bring its high-energy performance to the Germania Insurance Amphitheater in Austin, Texas. Flesh Hoarder, King Parrot, and Amon Amoth would fill out this heavy lineup.

Pantera has been a keystone of the heavy metal scene since the early 80s, and their Texas ties would lead to a full house at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater. Their unique mix of groove metal and thrash has not only influenced countless bands but has also created a lasting impact on the genre.

The bill also featured "Viking Metal" heroes Amor Amoth, which I would miss due to the parking lot we call I-35.

Pantera would hit the stage just before 9. Prior to taking the stage, a tribute video played honoring the fallen heavy metal heroes, Vinnie and Dime. As the curtain dropped, the crowd went wild as the band members—Phil Anselmo, Rex Brown, Zakk Wylde, and Charlie Benante—took the stage. The roar of the audience was deafening, a testament to the band's enduring legacy. The band kicked things off with "Suicide Note Pt. II" followed by "Hellbound" and "5 Minutes Alone". Pantera wasted no time letting everyone know they were in the house.

As the evening continued, some of the classics that you would expect to hear were performed: "Mouth for War", "This Love", and "I'm Broken" would whip the crowd into a frenzy. The sound and the visuals for this tour are top-notch. The set would cover songs from 5 albums, with "Vulgar Display of Power and "Far Beyond Driven" getting most of the selections. The "Cowboys from Hell" put on a hell of a performance, giving their fans exactly what they wanted: a steamy night of Texas metal. There is no telling if the band is going to continue after this tour, so catch it while you can.
