"The Poisoned Ascendancy" tour took over the Boeing Center at Tech Port on Wednesday night bringing a sold out crowd a night of crushing metal featuring Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine, August Burns Red and Sylosis. Thanks to traffic and road construction I arrived late and missed openers Sylosis. set arriving just in time for the last song. After a quick set change August Burns Red would take the stage. Hailing from Lancaster, Pennsylvania these guys brought it hard. Their live show was absolutely incredible, filled with crowd interaction and masterful guitar work.

The air was electric in the Boeing Center as fans eagerly waited for the metal titans, Trivium and Bullet for My Valentine, to take the stage. There’s something undeniably exhilarating about a heavy metal show; the blend of pounding drums, shredding guitars, and intense vocals creates an atmosphere that is simply unmatched.

From the moment the lights dimmed and the opening notes echoed through the venue, it was clear that this was going to be a night of pure metal mayhem.

As August Burns Red wrapped up their set, anticipation for Trivium began to fill the air. There’s an incredible rush when one of your favorite bands takes the stage, and Trivium was ready to bring the heat. Starting with "Rain," the band immediately captured the audience's attention, offering a perfect blend of heavy riffs, melodic hooks, and complex rhythms.

Frontman Matt Heafy commanded the stage with a presence that was both charismatic and intense. Trivium's performance felt like a masterclass in modern metal, showcasing their technical prowess while also delivering emotional depth in their lyrics. Songs like "Dying in Your Arms" and "Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr" had the crowd reaching new heights of excitement, with fans screaming the lyrics back at the band.

The strong connection between the band and the audience was evident throughout their set. With each track, the crowd's anticipation only grew, culminating in an explosive rendition of "In Waves." The venue exploded with energy, with fans moshing, dancing, and of course crowd surfing. Trivium delivered a killer hard hitting set filled with catchy hooks and outstanding guitar work.

Bullet for My Valentine would take the stage next. The band kicked off with their classic track, "Her Voice Resides," instantly igniting the crowd. The rhythm and intensity of the song resonated deeply with the audience, who were already on their feet, headbanging and shouting along.

The band’s front man, Matt Tuck, showcased a powerful vocal performance that had everyone singing along to every word. Their setlist was a perfect mix of fan favorites, with a heavy dose of song from their debut album: "The Poison". Songs like "Tears Don't Fall" and "Hit the Floor" had the Boeing Center crowd crowd fired up.

The energy in the room was palpable, with each song propelling the crowd into a frenzy. From soaring guitar solos to intense drumming, it felt as if the band was feeding off the ecstatic energy radiating from their fans and indeed they were. The lights and sound were spot on, providing a chest thumping visual experience. Looking around at the crowd, it was quite the mixture of young and old, with many obvious parents taking their young one to the "rock show". It looks like metal/rock music is alive and well and in good hands.
